Job #100: How It All Happened
Friends have started to ask me how this whole thing happened regarding my segments on the Today Show and the New Year’s Eve Show on NBC. Below I’m going to recount the story. If you’re looking for general answers about my project, visit the FAQs page. And although I’d enjoy telling you all this story individually, there just isn’t enough time in the world for that. So here it goes:
A week before Christmas, I got an email from a friend at NBC’s Today Show saying she pitched my idea, and they loved it! She’d known about my project since its inception in December 2011, and wanted to wait til the right time to pitch it.
When she contacted me the next day asking if I’d be available for an interview on Wednesday the 26th, I was speechless for three minutes! My roommate kept asking me what was wrong.
That Friday, the producer called me and we talked for a half our about the project, and went over call times and the car service. I told some family and friends the news, but asked them not to post on social media til Monday the 24th so the excitement would still be fresh for the 26th.

Did you guys know Grace Helbig is in a new commercial for Lowe’s?
I legitimately had to rub my eyes to make sure my mind wasn’t playing tricks on me.
I Like Tulips: Hello Everyone.
If you saw this post about a week ago, you know that I’ve just started a 12 month journey to become a life coach. I’m SO excited to be doing this work, as I can already see my own approach to life changing for the better. No, not for the better, for the AMAZING.
After just one training…

My Sister Paid Progressive Insurance to Defend Her Killer In Court
I’ve been sending out some impertinent tweets about Progressive Insurance lately, but I haven’t explained how they pissed me off. So I will do that here as succinctly as possible. There’s a general understanding that says, “insurance companies— oh they’re awful,” but since Progressive turned their shit hose on my late sister and my parents, I’ve learned some things that really surprised me.
I’ll try to cleave to the facts. On June 19, 2010, my sister was driving in Baltimore when her car was struck by another car and she was killed. The other driver had run a red light and hit my sister as she crossed the intersection on the green light.
